Artisan tweed tote with leather handles
Made from an exceptionally beautiful pin wheel tweed, woven locally in Cumbria by Jan Beadle, this is a bit different. I have teamed it with a bag flap and handles, in dark brown vintage looking leather. The bag flap closes with a magnetic snap and the leather handles are flat and comfortable for shoulder wearing, but also look great when worn in the crook of your elbow.
This is a soft but sturdy bag, it will stand up on its own even when empty and has a reinforced base and metal bag feet. The lining is Liberty Lawn in a pretty print, which picks out the colours in the tweed and the leather. There is one internal zipped pocket, with contrasting fabric and a vintage button on the outside.
The bag comes with its own Hole House wooden tag. This is a one of a kind bag, the tweed is woven in tiny quantities and I will only make one bag like this. All my bags are stitched using a sewing machine, but always finished by hand.
